Hola, I'm Esme 👋
A Mexican language teacher on a mission to help you speak real Spanish with confidence.
My name is Esmeralda, but most of my students call me “Esme” — it’s shorter and easier to say. I’m from Mexico, and I’m a language teacher with both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree focused on English language teaching and education.
Languages, linguistics, and teaching have always been a huge part of my life. While I was still in university, I began teaching English privately and later worked in schools and language institutes with students of different ages and backgrounds. During that time, I also taught Spanish occasionally, but it wasn’t until my Master’s degree that I truly fell in love with teaching Spanish as a foreign language.
What inspired me the most was working with foreigners who are looking to connect with Mexican culture from various aspects — whether that be with their neighbors, friends, significant others, coworkers, or simply feeling passionate about Mexican culture and the Spanish language. That experience completely changed the direction of my teaching journey and motivated me to dedicate more time and energy to helping students learn Spanish in a practical, natural, and meaningful way.
Spanish is often seen as a difficult language, but I truly believe it is not difficult — it’s simply complex. My goal as a teacher is to simplify that process and guide students step by step so they can communicate with confidence and actually enjoy learning the language.
That’s how MexMeSpanish was born: a space created to help students learn real Spanish in a way that feels approachable, engaging, and connected to Mexican culture and real-life communication.
Whether you are learning for travel, work, relationships, relocation, or simply for personal growth, I hope this space helps you feel motivated, supported, and excited to continue your Spanish journey.
Welcome to MexMeSpanish 💛
