"To become" in Spanish: volverse, ponerse, hacerse & friends

In English, 'to become' does all the work. In Spanish, the verb you choose tells your listener what KIND of change happened — voluntary or involuntary, temporary or permanent, emotional or professional. Pick the wrong one and the sentence sounds off.
